Here's what's in store for OLV middle schoolers in September!


September 8, 6 pm: RE and Youth Program Parent's Meeting
Parents are invited to attend this informational session regarding OLV's Parish Religious Education and Youth Programs.


Location: OLV

September 8, 7-8:30 pm: Youth Rosary Making
This event is open to all middle and high students (even if they aren't a member of our parish).


We will be making rosaries for troops from our parish and their families.  All 6-12 graders are invited to attend.  Cost is $5 per person to cover supplies.  If you already know who to make these rosaries, come and help teach others how to as well!

September 15, 6-7 pm: Religious Education Begins
Sign up by Alfie Rael ahead of time after mass or by stopping by the parish offices between 9 am and 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

September 25, 8 am - 1 pm: Hiking at Horsetooth Rock with Fr. James
This event is open to all middle and high students (even if they aren't a member of our parish).

We will be hiking to the top of Horsetooth Rock where there are amazing views! The hike is moderate. All necessary supplies are listed on the permission form in the back of the church or on the youth bulletin board.  We will need drivers for this event!

Cost: $5 per person, due with permission form to Parish Office by September 22.

Middle School Youth Group will be held on Sunday afternoons at OLV.  Food will be provided each meeting either by parents for the youth program.  Bring a friend and come for food, faith, and fellowship!

October 3, 4-5:30 pm: Middle School Youth Group

Middle School Youth Group will be held on Sunday afternoons at OLV. Food will be provided each meeting either by parents for the youth program. Bring a friend and come for food, faith, and fellowship!

October 13: Operation Christmas Child Begins

We will again take part in this fun Christmas service project.  Each family or individual fills a shoebox with any combination of the recommended items found on the website listed below.   Then you include at least $7 to pay for shipping of the box or you can pay on-line and then track your boxes.  The latter is really cool becuase then you see where your box is going.

November 2010

Here's what's in store for OLV middle schoolers in November!

November 5, 7-9 pm: Middle School Movie Night


Movie nominations will be given by the youth ahead of time and will be selected at a later date. Each person should bring a snack to share and $5 for pizza! All 9-12 graders invited to attend. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

November 7 & 21, 4-5:30 pm: Middle School Youth Group

Middle School Youth Group will be held on Sunday afternoons at OLV. Food will be provided each meeting either by parents for the youth program. Bring a friend and come for food, faith, and fellowship!

November 10: Operation Christmas Child Boxes due
Return filled shoeboxes to the church so that they can be sent onto the shipping center in Denver and get to their destination for Christmas.
 
November 12, 5-9 pm: Youth Babysitting Night Fundraiser
The Youth of OLV will be hosting a babysitting night at the church.  More details on age and cost will come soon.

November 20, 5:30 - 6:30 pm: Youth Ministry Fundraiser Dinner

This event will help us raise money for youth activities and program such as retreats, conferences, and local parish events. We will be serving a great Italian Dinner prepared by parishioners and the youth! Suggested donation is $5 per person for this all you can eat meal. Everyone is welcome to attend and show their support for the youth of the parish.

December 2010

Here's what's in store for OLV middle schoolers in December!

December 4 and 5; after all masses: Youth Ministry Bake Sale

We will be selling homemade treats after all masses this weekend. Proceeds will help to fund various youth events! All youth are welcome to help by selling or making baked goods for this event.

December 11; 9 am - 5 pm: Middle School Advent Retreat

This event will help all 6-8 graders more fully understand the Advent season as well as help them prepare for the miracles of Christmas. It will begin at 9 am at OLV and conclude with 4 pm mass. More information regarding price and other details TBA.

December 16, 6:30 pm: Advent Party and Caroling

The youth and RE programs will join forces to celebrate this holy season by Caroling in the neighborhoods surround OLV and then conclude with food and fun. All are welcome to participate!
